Mitochondrion And Chloroplast

The chloroplast is the reason plants are called “self feeders”, when photosynthesis happens to make carbon dioxide the chloroplast takes the energy from the sun and makes it into glucose. Glucose is a energy-rich sugar, the glucose is made within the granum, the granum looks like green circular plates stacked on top of each other, and the proper name is thylakoid membrane. The plants send the glucose to the mitochondrion, or they would store the glucose in the vacuoles so they can use it later.

The mitochondrion is often called the “power house” if the cell, the cristae is where the cellular respiration happens. The mitochondrion uses the energy from the glucose and turns it into ATP, ATP is used to send energy everywhere in the cell to get their reaction.

The cells like mitochondrion and chloroplast like to use the most efficient way to do things, to define the word efficiency: efficiency is to use the quickest way to do things. If there is more ATP there is will be way more happening within the cell.

Cells

The cell is the basic unit of organization of organisms, all organisms are made up with one or more cell, also all cells come from preexisting cells. What is the organism(s) called that is made up of only one cell? The electron microscope was invented in the 1940's, The microscope can magnify up to 500 000 times its normal size. The Scanning electron Microscope scans the surface of cells to see their 3 detentions. The Transmission electron Microscope allows scientists to study the structure contained within a cell. Did you know that the cells that do NOT contain internal membrane bound structures are called Prokaryotic cells, the cells of most unicellular organisms such as bacteria do not have membrane bound structures (called Prokaryotic cells.) The cells that DO have membrane bound structures are called Eukaryotic Cells- Most of the Multi-Cellular plants and animals are made up of the Eukaryotic Cells. The membrane Bound structures within Eukaryotic cells are called organelles, each organelle has a specific meaning that helps the survival of all cells.
